MAWTT #79 - Use Gingham/and or Buttons

Hi Everyone,

Edited to add: This post was scheduled to go live at 9am yesterday (or so I thought) but being the numpty I am I put the wrong date !

A new challenge has started today over at MAWTT and this time it was my turn to choose the theme. I chose two of my favourite things to add to my cards Gingham and Buttons :) I absolutely love gingham and the way it suits lots of occasions with its fresh look and who doesn't love buttons !

For my card I have used a DSB image, the sentiment caught my eye first and I just knew I had to use it.

The gingham paper I have used is a download from The Lovely Studio (formerly Pink Petticoat) and you get it in lots of colours. I have coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted onto green card. Some gorgeous black gingham ribbon finished it off together with the trio of pink flower buttons.

My lovely teamies have some gorgeous inspiration cards for you over on the Challenge Blog and we look forward to seeing your wonderful entries.

Over the next few days I plan to do a post with news of what I have been up to while I have been absent from my blog and I hope to have chance to catch up on what I have been missing on your lovely blogs too,

Bye for now,

My Time to Craft #372 - Holidays

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well, I started this post 3 days ago and I'm eventually here posting it !

This fortnight's theme over at My Time to Craft is 'Holidays' so we would like to see cards that could depict any seasonal holiday...Christmas, Thanksgiving or maybe a summery card.

The idea for my DT card came when I got my last copy of Papercraft Inspirations and saw the gorgeous seaside themed free papers and I had been wanting to use an image I had bought recently from DSB :-)

So this is my card

I love beach huts and I thought the sentiment that came with the image was great. I coloured with Promarkers then lightly inked around the edges with Memento Summer Sky ink. I decided to use the cute seagull paper from the magazine matted onto red cardstock. Just added a bit of twine to finish it off.

I had a little 6 x 6 frame which I have never found anything to fit so I decided to make a little picture too.

I hope you will join us at My Time to Craft we look forward to seeing what you create,

That's all for now,

Still Alive !

Hi Everyone,
I feel like I'm always apologising lately for being such a bad blogger :-( I have been so busy I need an extra 24 hrs in a day lol. I finally decided to take the plunge and try to build up a little business now that our granddaughter is at nursery full time and starts school in September so I am no longer on nanny duty every day. I have booked up for quite a few craft fairs over the next few months too so I have to do lists coming out of my ears ! I'm loving it though after dreaming of having the time to do something for me for a long time, I just need twice as much of it !

Anyway apologies to Shell and my lovely teamies that my DT post for the new challenge at My Time To Craft is so late, I had the card made in plenty of time I just haven't been able to get on the PC to blog it !

The Challenge this fortnight is Circles so quite a lot of scope for ideas there, as I am woefully behind on Christmas cards for my stash box I decided to make one of those.

I used some of the images from the 'Scrumptious Christmas' set from DSB coloured with Promarkers and a sparkle gel pen. I cut the circles with my stitched circle dies and then matted onto the red and Kraft panel. The reindeer paper I downloaded years ago and can't remember where it was from now but I thought it was really cute. The sentiment came with the images and I just punched the corners with a Tonic corner punch. Some Josy Rose nail heads just finish it off.
I decided to make an A5 card this time which I hardly ever do but think I will be making more this size and this card is also nice and flat for posting.

Well that's all for now, while I am on the computer I am going to do some visiting of your lovely blogs as I have really missed seeing all of your gorgeous cards,

Big Crafty Hugs

MAWTT Challenge #71 - Sentiment no Image

Hi Everyone,

A new Challenge has started at Moving Along With The Times Challenge blog today and this time the theme is Sentiment No Images so we want to see the sentiment as the focal point on the card.

For my card I used one of the lovely 'Milestone Birthday Sentiments' from DigiStamp Boutique, I found some pretty Damask type paper in my bits box which I matted onto gold pearlescent card and the sentiment is matted onto the same card. I have added some pearl string from Buddly Crafts around the edge to finish it off.

My team mates have made some gorgeous inspiration cards so pop over to the blog and take a look, we look forward to seeing your creations too !

That's all for now,

My Time to Craft - Challenge #370

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I have put in an appearance I'm such a bad blogger lately. I've been poorly the last 10 days with a bad ear infection which affected my balance quite a bit, if I tried to stand up I fell over so I have been hardly daring to move out of my chair during the day while hubby is at work just in case.
I feel a lot better today though so I managed to get my DT card done for the new challenge that starts today over on My Time to Craft. The theme is Coloured card so we want to see you stamping or colouring on coloured card....No white !

For my card I used Daisy Bear from Di's Digi Designs which I printed onto blue card and coloured with Promarkers. I used a dotty method (technical term lol) for colouring the sweet bear and was quite pleased how it turned out. I was much less pleased with the placement of the ribbon though but by the time I decided I had stuck it down with red tape and there was no way it was coming off without totally ruining the card.

I will be catching up on your lovely blogs over the next couple of days, enjoy the rest of the weekend whatever your plans.

Bye for now

Follow the Yellow Brick Road !

Good Afternoon Everyone,

It's time for a new Challenge at My Time to Craft and this fortnight the theme is Inspired by a Film

As a kid my absolute favourite film (and still to this day) was The Wizard of Oz, it was so magical and always the highlight of Christmases growing up. Unfortunately my hubby and daughter don't share my enthusiasm for it but luckily my granddaughter absolutely loves it, she is 4 yrs old and for the past 18 mths she has watched it virtually every day !
As luck would have it I recently came across a fab blog called Dearie Dolls which is full of wonderful digis free for crafters to use and while I was looking through the tons of images I found this one and knew I had to use it for Freya's birthday card this year.

I coloured the image with Promarkers using a bit of artistic licence with Dorothy as my granddaughter has blonde hair and loves polka dots !
The papers are Pink Petticoat and the little resins are from Ebay yrs ago.

Pop over to the blog and check out my talented team mates gorgeous creations and we are looking forward to seeing your fabulous entries too :)

That's all for now,

Simple Daisies

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well and enjoying some better weather it has been gorgeous here this week !
My card today is a CAS one that I made for my stash, I am hoping to to do a couple of fairs soon so I'm trying to stock up with some different styles to sort different tastes.

I used my stitched squares dies to cut the squares from pink card and papers from Anna Marie Designs pad, then cut the daisies from matching papers and popped up on the squares with glue gel.

I embossed some lines on the card blank for a bit of interest and stamped an LOTV sentiment and finished with 3 large pearls.

I would like to enter this in the following Challenges:

CAS on Sunday - Mother's Day
CASology - Parent

That's all for now,
